What is Quick Dry Foam?

Quick Dry Foam (also known as reticulated foam) is a high-performance foam designed for the outdoors. We use QuickDry Foam in all Devon outdoor cushions, as it’s highly porous meaning it allows water to quickly pass through the cushions without being absorbed. This is essential for outdoor furniture in New Zealand, where the weather can become wet and wild without much warning!

What makes it different to regular foam? The key benefits of QuickDry Foam include:

WATER DRAINAGE / The open-cell structure of QuickDry foam enables water to pass through it easily. This allows water to drain very rapidly and fresh air to circulate freely and continuously.

QUICK DRYING / As obvious as the name itself, since water can drain through the foam, it dries quickly when exposed to rain or other forms of moisture, ensuring that outdoor cushions and upholstery remain comfortable and usable after being wet.

MOULD RESISTANT / QuickDry Foam has built in anti-microbal protection to prevent the growth of common moulds and fungus. The ability to dry rapidly also helps prevent the growth of mildew, which is a common issues with traditional foam in outdoor settings.

DURABILITY / QuickDry foam is renowned for being a high-performance material and is typically longer-lasting than regular foam when used outdoors because it can withstand exposure to the elements.
